Linda Chase is currently Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Methodist Hospital for Clarian Health in Indianapolis, IN where she leads a team of nearly 1800 registered nurses in one of the state's biggest and busiest hospitals. Methodist Hospital is nationally ranked for transplant care, orthopedic services and urology care and has an award-winning cardiac critical care unit. Methodist is well known for its excellent Level One Trauma Center, one of only two in the state. Methodist Hospital was re-designated a Magnet hospital in April 2009.

Prior to coming to Methodist Hospital, Linda was Chief Nursing Officer at The Ohio State University Medical Center where she was responsible for University Hospital and Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. University Hospital is a 900+ bed, acute care, research and teaching hospital, and flagship of the Ohio State University Health System, which also comprises Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Ross Heart Hospital is currently a 150-bed, state-of-the-art, cardiovascular hospital providing advanced cardiac imaging, minimally invasive procedures, catheterization, pacemaker implantation, surgical bypass, mechanical heart pumps and transplants.

Before her years at The OSU Medical Center, Ms. Chase worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in a variety of leadership positions of increasing responsibility during her 28-year tenure, and was the Senior Assistant Director for Nursing Administration, responsible for nursing practice standards, Magnet and accreditation at UI Hospitals and Clinics.

Ms. Chase received her BSN from Coe College in 1986 and her MA from the University of Iowa in 1993. She currently holds a certification in Nurse Executive Administration, is a Magnet appraiser, and a doctoral candidate. As a student and organizational leader Linda has focused on implementation strategies that stick and has a developed a template for which others can glean expertise and use. She is also conducting research focusing on the nurse manager role with an emphasis on the skills and competencies deemed important by nurse managers themselves to carry out this pivotal role in healthcare organizations. This research will refine and advance knowledge about the nurse maanger role building on her 1994 work.
